The Karr Lab has extensive expertise in whole-cell modeling. Recently, they developed the first whole-cell model of Mycoplasma genitalium (Karr et al., 2012). They have also developed several software tools for whole-cell modeling (Karr et al., 2013; Karr et al., 2014; Lee et al., 2013). They have used whole-cell modeling to analyze the metabolic costs of synthetic gene networks (Purcell et al., 2013).
